Hi, I'm trying to install XenServer 7 on a desktop pc (i7-4770k). I bought a second hand Dell PERC H310 controller which I updated to the latest firmware and has 6 HD's attached to it. At boot, the RAID BIOS is showing and I created a RAID 5 drive. Now when I have Windows installed, the drive shows up and is accessible. Now when I try to install Xenserver 7, I cannot see the drive in the installation. If I put the installation on an SSD, Xenserver installs but I do not see the drive after installation. I've been searching for any Xenserver drivers but I cannot find any. I also tried to install the Red Hat drivers but still not luck. I see the PCI card but not the drive I created. I also tried a PCI passthrough to a VM with Windows installed on it, but when I do, it stays stuck at boot. Do any of you have any experience with the Dell PERC H310 card and Xenserver 7? How did you get the card to work? It's on the HCL list so I expected it just to appear but it just doesn't. I'm pretty new at this so thanks for any help! Did you try booting the XenServer install media in UEFI mode? It seems to me that Perc H310 has a uefi driver so when booting as legacy BIOS it doesn't get recognized. Hi Ivan, Thanks for your response. Can you maybe explain what you mean by booting the XenServer install media in UEFI mode? I installed the XenServer 7 ISO on a USB drive and booting of it. When going into my BIOS (UEFI BIOS), I see 2 versions of my USB drive. The first is just the name of the drive and the other one is the name of the drive with UEFI: in front of it. I tried booting of both but still no luck. Sinopsis komik Kungfu Boy Bahasa Indonesia. For those there is both legacy bios and UEFI support. If Dell did not provide both legacy bios and UEFI you can flash it in yourself. The firmware for these controller consists of 3 separate files, UEFI, legacybios and controller firmware Not sure if that will help but these controllers should work under XenServer Edit1: Example of flash command for comparable but newer controller (RS3UC080): sas3flash.efi -f SAS9311_8i_IR.bin -b mptsas3.rom -b mpt3x64.rom -c # Edit2: Just noticed that these LSI SAS2008 cards have also been build with the MegaRAID firmware instead of the MPT one. If your card has the MegaRAID firmware there is just one firmware file. I do think that it should work both with Bios and UEFI though. Same issue here - I have two OptiPlex 790 and neither will detect its H310. Three drives total connected to the H310. Two in a RAID-1 config, one drive non-RAID. XS doesn't see either the RAID virtual drive or the non-RAID drive. I've been through the H310 manual and configuration UI but don't see any reference to software RAID vs hardware RAID. I am not attempting to install XS to one of the drives connected to the H310. I wish to use the drives connected to the H310 as a SR. How to I get XS to recognized this controller (and the attached drives) either during or after install? Ha, don't think I'm quite that desperate yet; my system is booting fine. Frank zappa transcription pdf en. The motherboard BIOS recognizes the card: Under 'PCI Information Slot 1' it says 'RAID' In the 'Legacy Boot Sequence' is says 'PERC H310 Adapter(bus 01 dev 00)' It appears the H310 is a LSI SAS 9211-8i with a LSISAS2008 controller.
